What's In It? To expand on some of the things I listed above:
Antioxidants: otherwise known as superfruits! The superfruits in shakeology boost our immune system and help protect against damage of free radicals. When we become stressed, our body produces free radicals which can cause sickness and disease! These protect against the free radicals. This is a huge reason why people who drink Shakeology consistently rarely get sick!
Gut Health: This is my favorite part about Shakeology! Prebiotics, probiotics and digestive enzymes. Prebiotics (chicory and yacon root) act as food for the probiotics and are a great source of fiber. Probiotics promote healthy gut bacteria which is SO important. They support digestion and your immune system, reduce risk of high blood sugar, high cholesterol and assist with weight loss. Gut bacteria has also been linked to the production of chemicals in the brain, including serotonin which acts as the body's natural antidepressant. The probioitic in Shakeology is the only probiotic proven to pass through the digestive track and actually do it's job! And digestive enzymes support nutrient absorption and keep you "regular"!
Adaptogens: These help our bodies handle stress! Adaptogens grow at the root of trees which is a stressful environment for plants! They release a chemical that helps them handle the stress of their environment, and when we consume these plants, they help us with stress too! How fascinating is that?
